Who we are
In this soil, history and horizon meet. What began in 1868, when Captain John A. McNear first planted his stake in San Rafael, now extends through the vision of his descendant, Heidi Kühn—Founder of Roots of Peace, whose childhood among these hills matured into a global mission.
Together with her daughter, Kyleigh Kühn, a social entrepreneur attuned to design and humanitarian development, they shape Pegasus Gardens: a space where legacy is not a static monument, but a living dialogue between past and future.
Here, agriculture becomes a language, meals an act of communion, and gatherings a forum for ideas. Salon dinners, rooted in the bounty of the garden, invite conversation across disciplines and continents. Workshops and residencies trace the subtle connection between soil and soul, purpose and peace.
Pegasus Gardens is less a destination than a practice—an evolving experiment in cultivating community, beauty, and belonging.
Think garden suppers that taste like soul food, salons where local thinkers sit beside global ones, workshops that stir both hands and hearts.
Follow along. Come to the table. Peace in soil, peace in soul.
